I am wondering whether an OEM chrome spare wheel cover / hoop would fit on a spare wheel if a 205 / 75 / R15 tyre was used.

The hoop has several latching positions, similar like on a trouser belt.

But it could be that the "least tight" position on the hoop latch is actually made for 205 / 70 / R15, and that all tighter latching positions are for even smaller diameters (like for a worn 205 / 70 / R15 tyre, etc.).

A tyre in size of 205 / 75 / R15 theoretically has around 20 mm larger diameter than a tyre in the stock 205 / 70 / R15 size.

It's circumference is larger by 64 mm, representing an increase of 3,1%.

Here is an example of an OEM chrome wheel hoop with the visible latching mechanism:

Kate has the crome hoop on hers and the latch is on the middle hole (205/70/15) so it may
fit depending on tire type etc. The sizes from different manufactures varies a lot.

Hi, i had the chrome /stainless hoop on standard 205/ 70x 15.
I now have 215.70 x15 fitted, i have refitted the hoop..but had to drill out rivets on piece with slots in..and moved ot closer to end, by about 1 inch..after trying to fit without, it just wouldnt..after removing rivets..moving it along and rerivetting in place, it now fits easily, and has a couple spare slots left.
Hope this helps.. Tyres are Yokohama geolandar 215.70 x 15.. meatier than the original bridgestones too.

Thank you both for the valuable information. I ordered one second hand and will se how it fits on my 205 / 75 R15 tyre.

If it does not, I have another eager Jimny owner willing to pay for it.
