Hi Guys, I will keep this as short as pos. I was in the middle of a 300mile road trip when my exhaust went on my o2 05. I realised it was the back box to tube coming loose and finished the journey, all 150 noisy miles to get to my destination. I found a local kwik fit. hoping it just needed a bracket or an adjustment as my little jimny had just been MOTed at my local garage 2 weeks ago. It needed a cat which was supplied and fitted for £150 plus MOT of £40 so that is £190 for a years motoring. I was as happy as a pig.
However, the bill from Kwik fit was just over £250
Is this acceptable or was I ripped off?

For a bit of back box? Dear God they saw you coming, 250 quid is extortionate in the extreme, I would have refused to pay.

Box itself should be between £50 and £80 depending on quality

You've been ripped off but unfortunately that's what you get when you go to Kwik fit.

Sounds like you've got a whole exhaust from that new CAT back!

An expensive one too! Look for the gold plating.
