Big trip in the Jimny - what to take?

I have a brand new unused set of Konig chains that I bought in France a few years ago and never used. They will fit 205 75 15 tyres amongst others. They are heavy duty in the original plastic carrier and are the type that has large ring that clips together on the rear of the tyre with chains attached to it. The chains come forward over the tyre and are linked together on the front. Not sure that makes sense! The fitting instructions are with the chains. I paid over a £100 for them but am open to offers.

Manual VVT, 2 1/2" lift, ORA castor corrected arms, 2" ORA body lift, 4:1 transfer box, Uprated front shafts & CVs ERM , ARBs back & front 3.9 diffs, 6 point cage, ORA winch bumper - Superwinch EP9, ORA rear bumper, ORA axle truses, Diff guards ERM , TBR tank guard, Snorkel, Kumho KL71.30.9.50 15

Thanks Obarno but I picked some old ones up from a mate.

One thing I am unsure about are my drive and power steering belts. As far as I and the PO know they are the ones fitted from factory (2004 with 78000 on the clock). I understand they are high mileage things but since I'm heading out on a long journey I wondered if I should either change them OR just keep a spare of each in the car. If one fails on a journey can they be replaced roadside in under an hour with the radiator still in and just some basic tools?

Thanks in advance!

I would change them before I went, sods law is that they brake somewhere REALLY inconvenient and take a spare set ;)

Right. I've seen the how to on changing them but it's a tad confusing.. Is it a one day job and at novice level?

And this might sound retarded, but the 'drive' belt is the same as a cam belt yes?

Makes sense yes, I'll look all over for cracks in the rubber. Have you had your kingpins changed yet?

I got my two belts from bigjimny shop. If you give him your reg Martin will make sure you get the right ones. Mine were both genuine suzuki. Most later jimnys are chain cam belts the other belts I believe are an auxiliary belt and a drive belt. Even if you don't fit them leave them in the boot and if one does go you'll have the correct belt ready.

Indeed I do plan to do that but it's just if one goes I need to know it's a possible shortish by-the-road job.

Martin has told me the exact belts I need - drive belt, power steering belt.

Not looked into cam belt or timing belt. Are there a total of 4 belts then? I can only see 2!
