Jimny SZ4 towbar and off road tyres

Hi,
First topic posted so please bear with me if this has been asked before. Recently bought Jimny Sz4 as first 4 x 4 for my hobby of shooting-brilliant little vehicle and now got the bug. I want to fit a towbar and would like some recommendations of type/make etc. This will only be used for a very light trailer.
It seems initially looking that the ground clearance may be compromised?
Fitting the 7 pin electrics on the rear door seems a good idea?
I have the standard road tyres fitted, are they OK for light off road use, if not any suggestions.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Many tow bars tend to stick down under the bumper looking a bit of a mess to be honest.

I bought the detachable witter bar... Which is pretty expensive, but a far neater solution than others.
The detachable tow ball also means you aren't blocking any of your number plate unless the ball is fitted, in which case you would normally be towing.

A Jimny will tow 300kg braked, and according to the book, 1.3 tonne braked... Personally I'd stay below the tonne.

The standard duellers are fine for light off road driving... Across a field to collect logs or go shooting
If the field becomes very boggy with snow etc a set of AT tyres will be best. A set of AT general grabbers work fine both on and off road.

The only comment I'll make is I like the flanged type(bolted on) ball as you can get accessories to fit compared with the removable type however if you go for a fixed towball be aware that MOT stations will want it removed as it partially obscures the number plate.
My local garage used to take the ball off and it would be in the back of the car in a rag
I used to take mine off for the MOT and put it back on afterwards but I cured this by mounting the plate on the spare wheel
If you are installing it yourself it's a bolt on job as all the holes are already there.

If i were you i would buy a detachable one, certainelly when you want to do some offroad.
You don't want your ball stick out around 7 to 8 inches, plowing and hitting every rock when you take a steep descent.
For your 7 pins electric plug it would be better NOT to mount it onto your backdoor, this because off your wires, they can be cracking after some time while opening and closing your backdoor and this can give problems or even shortcut's!
Better is to mount it just besides your numberplate on your upper side of the bumper.

Here you see the towbar without the ball and i put a shackle into it for towing with a kinetic recovery rope.
You see the difference with our without the ball.
The towbar protects also the rear bumper.

You can see mine is no lower than the standard recovery points, except the actual mechanism in the center.

Towbars are functional but ugly, why have one on display when you don't need to?
