I took out the broken-off antenna and replaced it with a new one. With the aid of a YT 'how to' video I'd found, it was a 5 min. job!

Then I installed a new clock. The old one was broken but I managed to source a new one. And I installed a new radio. I needed the correct ISO loom for the new radio. I found out that Honda used the same item in their older cars. My wife drives a CR-V and the dealer is close. So I jumped in the Jimny, drove to the dealer and asked if they were willing to rummage through their old stock. And yes! They found the 'missing link'. FoC! Nice.

The installation of the radio (Blaupunkt) was easy. But I notice that the LH speaker is 'dead'. I already had the intention of upgrading the front speakers. But now it's certain that I will do that in the near future.

Thanks! As a matter of fact, I did check the balance when I was going through the manual of the newly installed radio. I did not check the plug to the speaker. The wiring under the dash is completely original and unmolested(!), so the chance that the wiring fails at the connector-side is rather small. I'll take off the plastic cover in the footwell and see if I can find something odd there.

Delighted for you mate. It also modernises your front as well. A couple of the lads here sware by Osram night breakers and to be fair it's a nice upgrade with a small expense or spend. I think i got the night breakers and the white 501 LEDs for under €40.
Are you out sitting in it now ???

Decided I'd do the vacume hub by pass mod with a 10mm spacer in the hub. 40 mins later I now have dependable 4wd. Vacume was hit and miss last few days so until I get some euros together it will do.

Its time Geraldine has some grown up boots to wear.

Good job I checked the pressures when I left the tyre centre, I am not sure what they were thinking. Quite why they could not read the plate inside the door which are mandatory on all vehicles for the last few years I do not know?
