Hi Nick, I got the Trail gear 6-5-1 gearset through Rob at Off Road Armoury as he had them on offer at the time, I've had it a while and only just got around to putting the gears in a case and fitting it in the Jimny.

It's been fettled just a tad.

Hate to say it, but they look like they will exert a magnified force on the recovery points... The ofset will twist the mount round, possibly off?

the part thats bolted through the eye doesn't move but the oval part is free to move so I think it'll be ok.

Sorry, I agree you've bolted these to the weakest part of the tie down points, designed to tie the Jim to a transporter, they're not recovery points there's a photo on here of one being ripped clean off.

On the 8th Day God made the LandRover -
On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

Fuel Tank out, quick blast of the grinder (until it died) and a good clean in the boot ready for paint before the boot floor!

Big Thanks to Member Jackonlyjack who met me so I could get the boot floor after he had changed plans for his boot!
Also got a bit of Primer On the underbody... RCP From Buzzweld this stuff looks the business and goes on brilliant! So smooth and has inbuilt rust inhibitors!

Need to do the underneath now

Do you need to remove the fuel tank to do that or is it just a safety precaution?
