over the last year i have managed to pick 2 of these wheels up, i had them blasted and coated while i had the others done,

File Attachment:

now  i already have 4 with tyres on  but wanted 2 more for a future project

File Attachment:

i like them because the grey/green spokes unbolt so you can powder coat them a different colour

File Attachment:

but i couldent undo the cap screws so i brush painted them anyway

why do i want 6 ?

Probably going to be easiest to use a drop box on the top of the axle to the diff and then send the propshaft over the top of the centre axle, having a drive through centre axle diff would leave virtually no space for the diff nose of the rear axle.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Hi
well my first thought was making a drive through axle by mounting another diff on the back of the first rear axle like they used to back in the day
File Attachment:

space was my concern also but effectively  if you use 31" tyres then youve got around 31" of space from axle to axle  so it should be possible ?

hadent really considered a drop box as i guess i would have to make it from scratch

then i found myself looking at a vitara gearbox that was on the workshop floor
File Attachment:

looking at the front output shaft down low  i would imagine it would be possible to machine the housing of the back end and make a new double ended shaft so that you had a flange facing forward and backwards driving the front and middle axle and then use the original rear out put in the centre top position  to drive the rearmost axle,  it maybe an idea to flip the last axle upside down so the diff was on the passenger side  to help with propshaft clearences     does that make sense ??

Lots of progress there. I'm sure you'll find a use for those gas shocks. A 3 wheeler maybe? Or you just one side of a 6 wheeler
As far as the baby oil, power tools and tissues are concerned ... Yeah, not going there

The Vit gearbox sounds pretty plausible for 6x6 but you'd have to be careful to unlock the front hubs on the road. If not you'd end up with horrible transmission wind up. I quite like the drive through diff idea but lining up the pinion on that second carrier must be a complete nightmare. The old Fiat Panda 4x4 used a similar setup to get drive for the back axle.  The gearbox is basically a  conventional transverse front wheel drive box with an added crown wheel on the diff driving a pinion and a dog clutch to select 4x4.

Les just a thought if you google 6x6 Land Rover Perentie you'll find some videos showing how Land Rover gets the drive to both axels. Just a thought.
and this guy
gives a good idea of how you could set up the springs.
