I'm sure if you get together with me and the apprentice surgeon, all the three of us can formulate a plan between us.
I will get the surgeon to trim chassis ends first, as that should open it up to many options for you.

+3 for no wheel arches. The current setup looks fantastic! I Don't know what the regs are with regard to Mr MOT, but defender style flaps fitted to the underside of the tray would look awesome.

Very lucky man Sniper - Keep up the great work Doc & Doc Jnr.

With the shortening of the chassis do you not run into needing a sva or iva or whatever it is called this week?

As far as I understand, the removal of a chassis point is not an issue, where moving one is..... but that is for the insurance company to ratify, if they feel it deserves a ministry inspection, it will have one. I'm happy that it would pass any inspection that may be needed...

Hi lambert hope your well
I extended the chassis on my lwb jimny pick up by 300mm and moved the axle back the same to give a larger back bed and doing this it altered the wheel plan from original.
When it was done I rang dvla and explained what I had done and asked to a Iva/ sva test to be done. That lady gave me the direct number of the Iva office and after a a hour long conversation and many photos sent to them I was told it did not need one, and just to have a vosa mot which I found strange, but went along with there decision. Took the guys name and date of the call and noted and that was the last of it.
Too simple in my mind but hey.
Regards shortening snipers chassis it’s more of reducing the length after the axle so this would not need one regardless providing we’re not cutting away any structural mounting points.
Be safe the doc

Yeah I'm good. It just demonstrates the lack of cohesion in the way the rules are applied and that a bod in an office can decide over the phone what is and isn't happening. You know what you are doing and it shows in your work but over the phone how could someone tell you from someone talking the talk? It's mental really. Either that or I place too much faith in the people enforcing the law knowing what the law actually is!

Jack, have you still got that manifold that you bought from Australia ?

Using that to fix the start and finish points would be a big help.... if I can borrow it for the fabby to make a jig from..... ?

I totally agree lambert, but did try to comply and follow the correct path
The guy Was quite confident that a vosa qualified mot tester would fail if it was not up-to standard , but we all know there a law to themselves good days and bad days.
Example of a guy in a warm office that’s got to come out in the cold sprung to mind
