I came across this article. Is this a (in)famous rally in the UK?

Disputed Rally

I started out with nothing & still have most of it left

Kinda yeah. I could start on about it but I would only get cross and have to moderate myself onto the naughty step for a week!

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Mini's were a passion for many years.....

"Pretty" was a sky blue SPI Cooper road car with a few trick bits and 90bhp at the wheels, quick at around 108mph.....

"Pig" was a 1380 Jonspeed hillclimber on a 45 DCOE / Jack Knight Dogbox, 104bhp at the wheels, massive first gear and only good for 84mph but by christ it got there fast. On / off clutch that needed 4500rpm and about 10 clear yards at the lights.... Horrible to drive but I loved it...

I think the same fun factor is now found with my Jimny...... but at much lower speeds lol.......

Much like Lambert, i can talk for hours about the giant killer that is the Mini but that's for another place...

My first car was a 1986 Mini Mayfair in black. I have always loved the Mini, and in the past have read loads of books even David Vizards yellow Bible. If I remember correctly after one of the rallies the French didn't belive the the car was the same engine spec as road going Cooper, so they took a Cooper (can't remember if they were compairing 1275s or 1071s or 997s) and raced the showroom cat against the rally car (again I can't remember if it was a drag race or timed lap round a circuit), but the showroom car won.

So basically, yes the French changed the rules after the race started when they realised the nrearest French car was in 5th place

Read it and you will understand.
