Have been driving Shogun alot with the Red Cross. Towing most times just above 2000kg. We have not been having any problems with the 2.5 diesel blowing the turbo or the head gasket but they do not have enough power.. Last Shogun addition is the 3.2 diesel, no problems at all.
Also got a 2012 VW Amarok wich is great but 136hp is a minimum and the 160-180hp 2.0 does have its issues..
i also allways liked my VW T4 and T5 wich is mostly trouble free with manual and syncro/4mot. But you might need the offroad capability of the other alternatives?

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.

Personally I would love a t5 4motion and it would essentially be every car I needed but it's just too big for the farm. In black with a set of all terrain tyres and a ghost viper stripe. Sweet!

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Planning on putting BF All Terrains on my T5 now, just cant find the right used 16 inch wheels for it.
Looks like I have to buy new ones.

i will not have the white letters out..

Might buy used steel wheels and paint them darkish grey.

Do you have the Galloper in britain? Huyndai korean Shogun revamping.
Here they have 3000kg trailer limit.

That was informative. Been to t bishi dealers and apparently the shogun is a brilliant car when it is working but an apocalyptic money pit when it isn't. That'll be a NO from me then. So back to the drawing board. Have had another look at the gv too and actually got the big trailer on the back of it and once it has my jaw hitch on it all sits nice and level even with an artificial load in it. I would like to say the gv ignored having the trailer on the back but it was significantly less bothered than both the Cherokee and the 90 when I had a test on a well known bit of road. I just wish it had a couple of hundred more kg limit that all, it would mean less trips. Still it's not half bad and I can't see an alternative.
