Winchfield Engineering have moved on to starting work on the body tub.

We always knew this was the bad spot as it had some visible rust on the outside, however it can be a bit of a shock as to how bad a "good" car can be.

Here on the drivers side rear we can see the panels that create the rear of the arch have trapped water etc and quietly corroded inside.

I could not get the panels off myself so Winchfield came to the rescue and pulled it apart.

Once the panels were off then the fuel tank could be released.

Here is a close-up of the mud flap mounts, they have corroded away and will need replacing on both sides.

Its the same story over on the passenger side with more corrosion visible

The floorplan is being cleared to allow for sandblasting to find and remove rust spots.

All the carpet studs had to be removed to give a bare floor.

There is also a nice collect of grommets!
