I'm no expert, learnt to arc weld when I was a student but have tried home MIG welders that will run off normal 13 amp supply both gas and gas less using CO2 and little disposable bottles of argon and there's no comparison with the welds done at work on professional kit with (free) Argo shield. Unless I change my job or get a decent electric supply I won't be buying a small mig- that is the main problem with small MIGs lack of power and penetration.

I noticed the other night some guy on e bay selling home made rock sliders from box section which needed welding on for "only £60! "
Am I the first to notice the flaw in his marketing strategy that if you can weld the things to the bottom of your car you can easily stick 3 bits of box together :D :D :D

I saw them as well and wondered lol
If they bolted on...fair play but weld on? Unless someone bought them and got a mate to weld them....but even then its a bit backward.
Nevermind, each to their own I guess :)

Having said that..... companies make bumpers that require welding on and sell them mail order........maybe we are the daft ones :D

Sorry guys... missed this thread...

Mav is way out of line... He has obviously never even laid eyes on a set of our current radius arms... Yes old arms had problems, and we have learnt from our mistakes & up-issued all of the old arms that were out there...

We can assure every O.R.A custom past present and future that our products are fit for purpose and designed and manufactured to the highest std...

Anyone who has had a chance to see any of our current radius arms will tell you just how OTT they are... There is another well known Suzuki off-road specialist that has just started manufacturing arms in the same way we "used to"... and we predict they will also have the same issues our early arms did... so do your research before you part with your hard earned cash... cheapest isn't always best...

The same goes for panhards, do some homework... We have a shocking video of a set of knackered 4 week old panhard rods that were on a customers comp safari Jimny by another off-road company. We will be posting this privately on the O.R.A forum in a couple of weeks...
