Engine makes squeak noise was created by Gdodson
Hi guys/gals everytime i turn my suzuki jimny on the engine makes a squeak noise but it only makes a noise when the engine is cool. once its warmed up or has been in the sunshine its fine doesnt make a squeak.
Its now done 56000 and im not sure if its ever had a cambelt/ timing belt change do u think this could be a sign it needs replacing or am i just worrying ??

Thanks glenn

Could be an alternator belt slipping. Wont be a timing belt as either you have an M13A engine with a timing chain, or an earlier one with a belt but the engine wouldn't be running if it was slipping!

Does this mean i need to get the alternator belt replaced? i dont think the timing belt is a chain i have an 03 o2 soft top.
or does it just need tightening somehow

Cheers Glenn

Tighten it up there should be a bolt with an elongated slot slaken the bolt off and leaver it out
