Finally got my Jimny! was created by Sandspider
Hi all
Well, after over a year of looking and planning, I finally got a Jimny! Arrived on Saturday morning, kindly delivered by the seller as it has no tax at the moment and is in the middle of a number plate transfer. It's the best colour (green), 2000 reg SOHC and has only done 58,000 miles. 10 months MOT. It took a while to find, but I'm chuffed with it and I think the price was quite good. I was a bit concerned that something sticky was leaking in the engine bay, but after a chat to the garage who did the belt change and some helpful advice from on here, it seems that the sticky stuff is just over-enthusiastically applied belt glue / dressing.
Besides that, it's due a service, seems to have a slow leak in one tyre, and might need the kingpin bearings doing. (No obvious wheel wobble, but there's some grease type stuff oozing out of the bottom of the hubs). It's also quite bouncy on road, possibly more so than others I test drove but I can't be sure of that! Anyway, can't wait to get it taxed and insured so I can use it!
The Bridgestone tyres have good tread, but when they eventually wear (or if the puncture is terminal) I'll probably get some AT tyres. No other plans for modifications yet, but you never know!
Whoop! :woohoo:
Sorry for pic quality, my phone doesn't like sunlight. Some of my friends have already named it the Green Chode. If you don't know what a chode is, Google carefully, and probably not at work!!

Thanks.
I'm not planning serious mods or offroading yet, but you never know! I'll probably put on A/T tyres when these wear out, and see how we go from there...

Nice
Although we've all agreed that red jimny's are the best, and the fastest.

Cheers all!
Discovered a few more bits wrong with it (leaking rear shock, no key for the alloy wheel locking nut, rust in the jack well, puncture etc.) but nothing I wasn't prepared for!
