Well after wanting a little Jimny for a while I've found one that was in the condition & price range that I wanted!

I've been after one that runs/drives & is in a OK condition but could do with a bit of TLC! I plan to have it back on the road for next winter & will then just tax & insure it for 6 months while the Shetland weathers rubbish!

First few things to do once I've picked it up are getting it ready for an MOT (it failed on a rotten boot floor) & had a few advisory's (worn drop links, oil leak, bushes, etc) & I'll get the cambelt done as i'm unsure when it was last done as there's no service history. It does however come with new drop links, poly bushes, 5 of the 3 spoke alloys with OK tyres & 5 of the OZ alloys with pretty good tyres that are on it in the picture. Does anyone know where I can I get replacement centre caps for the OZ wheels??

Then I think I'll look at mods like a high lift kit, bigger wheels/tyres, snorkel etc but will be on the look out for some bits while I'm doing the other MOT work!

I'll put up some better pictures once I've got it home :woohoo:

Cheers

Dodge

I needed a set of caps for my alloy wheels & did a search on ebay for 75mm, this item #280939770370 .
Turns out I found some plastic pipe end caps that worked a treat, they are much like the emergency petrol caps ‘fit all sizes’ hth ... ;)

Mr Greens now at home & after pressure washing a black buckets worth of mud & grass from the bottom I've found out a few things.

The 4wd light was flashing when I test drove it but had read the guide checking vacuum hubs & just thought it would be the filter or a split rubber hose. On further inspection it looks like the ridged pipes that run to the front have been cut right out & as the bushes on the front arms are pretty new I think it was done then. :( How much are the ridged pipes to replace? Where would I get them? Are they steel/brass/copper??

The tool box is in a OK condition, but the edges of the boot floor have rotted through! Is there a whole new replacement floor panel that can be patched in or should I get some steel bent at an angel & then weld front to back both sides? What sort of material thickness should look at getting??

The underseal is in a bad way to so thought this would be starting point, taking bits off the underside of the car grinding down the bubbles with a wire wheel & applying a couple of coats of waxoil! Might stop the rot of a while anyway :)

Here's a picture of the centre cap thats on the other back wheel!

I'd have loved to come down to the 4x4 show but have to plan when were coming on/off the island months in advance! And we've planned to go down to Suffolk for Easter! Your the wrong side of Leeds & Bradford for a pick up aswell. Are they to big & awkward to post? How much would you be looking for them?

Cheers
