How so? I belive the stock ECU will be able to adjust to the small increase in cc. This have been done numerous of times in australia etc. with good results. However it is far easier with a piggy back to tune it should it be neccesary. You are the only one saying otherwise in all my searching, but I am taking it into consideration as I will research it further

We have made conversions from m13a to m15a , m13a to m18a , m13a to vitara V6.
All of them required their own electrical systems in order to work properly.
Its easy to figure it. A m13a needs less fuel than a m15a. Akso the 1300cc has different main unit map.
If you want to have a 1500cc engine working as a 1300cc engine go for it.
But if you want to make something good then there is only one way, the right one by using all the
systems from the new one.

Its got much more torque, and suits the automatic quite nice. Before I had to shift manually to 3rd gear on hills etc. But now I can add a little trottle, it drops out of lockup and I still have the power to take the hills. With the M13A I had to press the pedal t the floor to make anything happen if I did not gear manually. So instead of applying trottle, I shifted up and down  much more torque off idle as well
I used the M13A intake, exhaust (welded a crack between cyl 1 and 2), sump, pickup etc. So it looks exactly like stock
I have some pics from the swap, Ill post them with comments a bit later

Looking pretty good. I think at some point I have to find a bigger engine too. Still hoping I will find a cheap Vitara 1.6l one day.....

mine are well blistered and bubbled and on the list to be done (but it's a long list)
think I'll go for a dark colour or possibly khaki
