Some more tinkering over the weekend, meaning the soundproofing is almost done (I still have to do the doors, but I'll wait until the heated mirrors project is also ready).
Off with the seats:
Let me see you stripped:
The "low frequency killer" dampener:
The sound and thermal insulator:
Since I've still got some sound killer, let's do the back door also:
When removing the carpeting, I've also cleaned/wiped/greased everything under there. Removed the old wiring (straight to the battery) used for the CB radio and replaced it with a proper one (2x2.5 mm, automotive use and a waterproof fuse holder). This one will go to a lighter socket in the center console for the CB radio and other accessories (fridge, compressor, whatever).
And one of my new stickers

Managed to get the additional power socket done this weekend:
And also fixed the CB mount, as it was not properly grounded and SWRs were through the roof (new SO-239 plug properly soldered and a grounding braid which brought my SWR to 1.5). Darn Suzuki, couldn't they have made metallic ends for the roofrails ?!?
If anyone knows of a roofrack similar to the Frontrunner ones (all metal, bolting directly to the factory bolts) please let me know.

Frontrunner in South Africa have mounts that work on the Jimny. They bolt on to the original roof rail mounting points.

I know about them. The problem is finding someone closer who can deliver a similar one.
