Hello!

I stumbled across this site while looking for info on Jimnys about a week before Christmas. Saw that someone on here (DVF) had just advertised his and it was only in Glasgow.

Registered on the site, sent him a pm and the rest is history! Bought it on Christmas eve.

Having now driven it for nearly a month, i can safely say ........ i love it! I was expecting the ride and comfort levels to be much worse (reviews generally aren't great), but given i've experienced commuting in a defender, it's fine.

Good off-road too but not really tested its full capability yet.

Here's a pic of it in the snow when i was home at my parents' over christmas. (If the link works)

Can you get Safari snorkels for Jimnys? I've always had safari snorkels on other vehicles and seen photos of Jimnys with them on but can't find any for sale. Or are they all a different brand that looks similar?

Welcome! That's a good Christmas present for yourself! I'm sure I've seen Safari Snorkels for Jimnys - Someone on here will point you in the right direction!

Looks like you've got some good tyres on there - are they Kumho's?

Thanks for the welcome! They are indeed kumhos. I'm really quite impressed with them. My first thought was to switch to some all terrains when they need changing but i think i'd go with another set of kumho kl71s. Definitely the best mud tyre i've driven on the road.

After a bit of research, it seems the TJM snorkel is the one to go for. Don't know where to buy one from though - anyone got any suggestions on that?

Still not completely sure about putting on a snorkel though. It’s not strictly necessary. I shouldn’t be doing much wading and although I like having the air intake raised up to minimise dirt and dust it draws in (and it looks cool!), it might spoil the tasteful look.

Talking of spoiling the tasteful look.... I also want a winch bumper, a winch, roof lights, spotlights etc etc etc! None of it necessary either....

Think i was lucky to get a Jimny when i did. I remember looking on autotrader multple times throughout December and there were only a few for sale in scotland.
