Front wheel bearings RE Koyo was created by gv42
Have installed, but they don't fit well, all the previous Koyo wheel bearings were unsealed, these are runner sealed, but don't fit ? Seems the chamfer is different, apart from seals and chamfer, they have identical markings , after a poor test fit, pulled the hub off, and it left the inner race on the stub? Any ideas?

I assume that this is a conversion on a back axle to a fully floating design using the same style twin ball race with rubber seals as is used on the front axle?. When removing any ball race of this type (where you want to reuse the bearing) you must apply the pressure on the inner race. The fact that the inner has separated from the outer indicates that the fit (tightness on the axle ) was to much. I assume that when you pulled the hub off, you needed considerable pressure to do it? This would indicate that the tolerance is akin to American standards than British. IMHO the use of taper roller bearings is preferable for this application.

I have just looked at the bearings I have here in stock, (Koyo brand sourced from Koyo UK) and they are all the unsealed version.
The inner race does slide in and out on them fairly easily, some versions are supplied with a nylon insert to retain the inner races during transport, note that this picture is NOT a Koyo brand and not sold by me,
Were the sealed ones obtained from me? If so I am not sure why they are sealed and why they appear different as I have always purchased from Koyo.

This is the 3rd installation we have done, first with these rubber sealed bearings, we have done the front bearings, 6-8 times and no issues with "unsealed l" bearings, only difference is the chamfer and rubber seal

Can you attach a picture with all the markings on the "faulty" bearing as the extra numbers on the edge can indicate the variant (ie "RS")

Not from @mlines , but legitimate looking packaging, with identical markings, apart from date mark, bearings have same etched markings
