Hi Rob, I'm not sure if this will help but this thread shows where the crank/cam shaft sensors are, these too can cause problems

It's the IAC valve sitting beneath the throttle body that is at fault. When I disconnect it the tickover rises to 1400rpm but is stable. When I reconnect it I get the odd rise and fall for about a minute then it falls to 700 without a blip. IAC valve is likely to be sticky but it does say it needs a new gasket if removed. Anyone ever removed it successfully without a new gasket?

Looks like I finally got it nailed. Changed the engine coolant temp sensor today and bingo, problem gone. It cost £43 from Suzuki which is a bit steep.
