Questions from a Newbie??? was created by Juggernaut
My father just bought me a GREEN jimmy. It's really nice! I want to know, what are the biggest TYRES I can put on it without doing any other modification? It's just for the look, and I don't want to soil my hands. I wanted a two wheel drive for better MPG. I'd also want 10-20 people to tell me what is the best place to buy an airfilter? Also which brand? I'm trying tO get the best MPG and airflow is a good way! I don't want to fabricate parts so everything has to be out of a box, so the shop can put it on for me, that's what I love about this forum, everyone keeps it simple. If the gas mileage doesnt get better I'm going to buy a Landrover.

My dad bought me a GOLD Jimny! I think you should go with 31 inch TYRES. Have your shop install a three inch lift kit! It looks good like that! The best filter to buy is the K and N filter, it took the shop an hour to install it but it adds lots of power! I went up a hill and didn't downshift! You should also look into a tube on the side, snorkel maybe? It lets you drive thru almost 6 feet of water, without any other modifications! I saw a video about it on YouTube!

Save yourself a lot of hassle, get a 200Tdi defender they will easily achieve more mpg than a jimny with larger tyres ever will.

As to air filters, the usual motor factor suspects: Fram, Champion etc are fine.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

 Ohh I loved the GOLD colour! Yes, I've already looked at a snorkel, because it acts like ram air and gives better mileage! Also been looking at a wing on the back because at the speed I'm driving it will push the car down for better handling, but I don't think it will flip, even with a lift and big TYRES. Has anyone looked into the hood scoops with the adhesive backing? I don't want to cut a hole in the metal, and might be good for more power!

It came with an electric turbo, the dealer said it gives me 10-15 more bhp, and 7 more mpg. You should think about one! Do you know where I can get some stickers for the side windows? I want it to look like a rally truck!

Mine shakes really my hands off the wheel when I go over 50mph! I think it's the engine mounts! I would go with K and N filters because they give you a free sticker!

I'm going to pull the family caravan to the camp site tonight, there isn't enough room inside because the back seats are missing, so my sisters will ride in the caravan. It's a 22ft daystar. My dad left for the site this morning to clean up. I have to use an adapter cause the Jimny has to many thingys in the elec plug. I wonder how fast it will pull it? Anyone know?

Open bonnet , unclip the 4 clips on the filter box , take out the airfilter , fit new one, clip top back on , close bonnet .... job done
