Hi from Yorkshire

Hello folks,

I've just popped in to look around as I think it's time that I said goodbye to my 110 double cab.

Luv it to bits but I only use it on the road and its a big lump that in this day and age I can't justify keeping.

Been viewing Jimnys with envious eyes and I would really luv a pickup, but can't legally have the kids in the back even though they would love it!!! (Those were the days)

Was put off by the thought of insurance for modded vehicles, but from the posts I've seen does not appear to be a major issue.

Would ideally like a bright red soft top with a lift that does not look too excessive and tyres that do not require major arch work?

I've scoured the forum for some examples, but if you have some decent pics please lets have a look.

Please don't be too harsh on me for being a landy owner. Oh and I do give the landy wave to modded Jimny owners!!!!

Where in Yorkshire are you from there is four of us over in Wakefield Area which have pretty much just started getting out green laning together and pay/play days. We are all meeting up in the morning and going to the peaks should be a good day.

iam one of the good looking fella's from wakefield,i too have owned a few landys but shhhh dont tell anyone,crying shame about harry ramsdens,your not too far from me james and rich so we will probably end up bumping into each other in the near future,i will also keep my eyes peeled for a motor.

You do realise that a Jimny will do about the same to the gallon as your 110? (It will save a little as diesel is 40p a gallon more than petrol)
They cost more to insure, and there are no cheap parts like for a Landrover: I paid FORTY POUNDS for a propshaft spider that would have cost £4 for the Landrover :pinch: .
The ride is a lot more lively than a 110 and the 2wd will spin it round in the wet whereas the 110 will just go.


That said the jimny is easier to park than the 110, and a great deal warmer in the winter., and as long as you don't try and drive like John off Emmerdale makes a good little winter runabout. (Apart from the rust: the bodywork isn't very well designed as regards rust traps)
