Looks really good, how did you mount the actual cb to the roof, was it with the original brackets or have you used something else,
Thanks for posting Dan

You can mount spots straight through the bumper if you don't mind butchering it with a pair of holes, you can put a plate underneath to bolt up to. The alternative is as i and few others have done and mount some on roof bars. Roof bars also offer a solution for your waffles, i've mounted my lights in such a way that will allow me to carry waffles on top still and leave room for me to mount a towing/work light.
I've got my twig on a mag mount at the minute but i will be changing shortly to a truck mount so i can use my quick release.

I used a piece of 5mm(?) plywood roughly the same size as the rig, with a couple of domed bolts through it. Marked where I wanted the original bracket to be, made a couple of holes in the head linning and fastened to that. The ply spreading the weight of the rig. The mike is just wrapped round the rig at the moment, just needs the holder fastening somewhere.
I may have been lucky because I took the '+' feed from the interior light and earthed it with the light bolt to roof and I don't pick any interference up. The '+' ihas a fuse in line, just in case.
The CB is a Cobra TX19 or something along that line. Quite small and light. if you were to have a full size rig, weight might be an issue?
I also have a small echo chamber to attach but haven't given any thought to where that will mount, if at all. It just makes you sound as if you're speaking from a big empty church with the echo. It's like a quarter size CB box, 12v to it, the mike plugs into it then a fly cable plugs into the rigs mike socket.
Just something else to faff with....
