If you've removed the door trim at some point, it's possible to have some broken or unseated clips which allow rattling. Fix: remove trim and rearrange the clips, replacing the broken ones.
You can also have some cables which are rattling around. Fix: wrap cabling in soft adhesive sponge, so they won't hit metal anymore.
If you still have noises, try checking the lock mechanism for play.
And of course, check that you don't have any coins in the door pocket

Having said that, it wasn't as successful on the back door 'knocking'. This was cured by adjusting the rubber 'supports' in the door.

Im sure they do move, most cars look like that, the adjustment is behind on the nuts.
Mark around it to show original postion then losen them and it should move up, down and in out.

1. So I used a hot air gun to heat the outer corner until it softened(went plastic) and then bent it inwards.
2. Held it in position until it went cool.
3. At that point it had set in new position.
4. When I now shut the lid it acts as a spring to stop the rattle.
