procomp 75 mm lift. jimny bits

hey guys im new to the forum.

i bought my jimny about 8 months ago and i have decided to upgrade the suspension and fit some bigger tyres.

im looking into my options and it seems to be a toss up between the procomp 3 inch lift from jimny bits in the uk.
or the tough dog 3 inch lift which i can get here in aus.

so what im really looking for is people personal opinion on the procomp kit as it is more favourble because of the price.

I have the 3'' jimnybits springs and pro-comp e3000 shocks, and many other parts from jimnybits, all are spot on and top quality in my opinion.
If I was to start again with a lift, id just get everything from jimnybits, especially now Rus has launched the correction arms for a 3'' lift.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm living in Aus as well and I have purchased the ProComp lift from JimnyBits. I'd have to start off by saying Rus' service is excellent, I have ordered twice from him and both times I've received my order without damage and within a week of ordering. Given our current exchange rate I've found ordering from the UK has been very cheap, even given the high shipping price, as the no GST or VAT essentially pay for it. But definately do a bulk order when you do. I'm not sure on this but I heard you need to keep the purchase under $1000 AUD to be exempt from the GST.

About the ProComp lift, I found it didnt have any instructions on installing, however 99% of the parts only fit one way so it's not hard to figure it all out. I did have to do a little modding to the rubber using a razor blade, so I don't know if thats because our Jimny's are different than the UK or not, or because the lift kit is a universal style kit. I haven't had a chance to test it off road, but she looks the part now and handles better on road. She has a very stiff ride tho, feeling every bump on the road (given our roads are quite terrible it's a bit of an issue), and thats using the E1000 shocks (softest).

From what I have read about the Tough Dog shocks, the ProComp, to me, seem just as stiff, so between the 2 I'd definately go the ProComp again purely because the price is 2-3 times less.

I've heard and read the OME kit is the softest, and when it comes time to replacing mine in the very distant future, I'd probably mix and match mine with OME to get a softer ride. But if your after a straight off the shelf kit, I'd recommend the ProComp for sure.

For me, price was a major thing to factor in, considering the lift kit, steering damper and correction bushes delivered cost just shy of the OME lift kit ($850) from here, I didn't even think twice about it.

So depending on your needs and wants, if you can handle it being stiff, go the ProComp, but if you need it as soft as possible, go the OME.

Oh and definately by the extended brake lines for a 3" lift, mine on the 2" are alread stretched to the max and might eventually damage them.

What's the flex like with this kit, as I'm ordering mine soon!

I ordered the 2" lift (Same price as 3"), generic steering damper, rear shock repositioners and caster correction bushes all delivered for around $820 after conversion.

How to work out the price is to add all the items to your basket, change the shipping to Australia, it will give you the total down the bottom in £'s. Times the total by 1.5 and it will roughly give you the AUD price at the current exchange rates. Based on that, the lift kit with shipping will cost $555. Given the kit weighs the most and shipping is based off weight, adding other items will only increase the shipping by marginal amounts if at all.

The lift kit is just like in the picture, there are also small little packets containing some small tubes that fit into the inside of the bushes for each shock that reduce the hole to match the bolt that holds it in (if that makes sense).

ah yes! thats good i just done a few calculations and for:

3 inch kit
brakelines
shock mounts
panhards
and castor bushes

it ends up being just over a grand. which is really cheap but then cause its tipped over it means i have to pay 10% gst and 10% import duties

so i thinki may try and source a few things locally, or do 2 orders
