New owner, very happy !!!! was created by dj.brian
Hi all.
Just bought myself a 2001 jimny auto cabrio with genuine 32,000 miles and fsh
Bought it after having a major spine op 18 months ago and testing about 10 other cars, including a smart car, mondeo, sedona, charade, focus etc etc.
Even though the ride is a bit "shakey" at times, the seat is excellent ! I think it is the lumbar support in it, best I have driven so far.
Low insurance, good MPG, good looking, good fun, convertible.............and comfy, excellent...:woohoo:
Never thought of one before.
What more could you want ?
Convertible for the summer, auto, and 4 wheel drive for the snow !

What do you call good economy ?
I fancy an auto but was lead to believe mid 20's was about the average for mixed driving.

BTW I also have a Smart (as well as diesel Skoda Fabia, Austin Healey Sprite and Range Rover ) and love it.

I do a 16 miles trip into work, Croydon to Brixton, many speed humps, average about 14mph (checked in my mondeo), I am getting between 31-34mpg at the mo.......not bad as my mondeo does 21mpg on the same trip !
Not checked it on a long run as it was bought for my commute.

Glad you found us .. I had a spinal op back in 2004 because of a scuba diving accident.
I too find very few cars are actually comfortable, and, with the amount of long haul travel I do I am never without a bad back for days after each flight.
I do however also find the Jimny seats very supportive for the lower back. The jimny is hard offroad though, I reciently changed my suspension to softer dampers to ease the harshness when offroading but evennow, because of its size, you donot get the level of comfort a discovery or other offroader gives you when crossing the same terrain. However the Jimny is more fun !!
