1. price
2. hard to find good ones plus safety devices and other manufactures of cages don’t make them so they are not msa registers so cant be used in competition

3. if you have a roll cage you wont get cheap car insurance :(

  • You can build your own Blue Book compliant cage easily.
  • Try Frank Pickles Insurance, they only insure modded trucks and get cheaper the more mods you have.

As Brian says - an MSA approved cage does not need to be built by a cage building company - my mate has built another club member such a cage for his competition 100" Landrover Trayback.

The MSA test wall thiknesses etc via a drilled hole.

I know Safety Devices have made a Jimny cage before and show them the money and they wil do so again.

My insurance is no more with a cage on a specialist policy than it was without one. I'm with who was Sureterm - can't remember they're new name but they don;t seem to care what mods I have when I call them up and add them with no extra charge each time - from cage to rocklobster - they don;t care of charge any more!
