Hi

I just joined the forum so thought I should say hello.

Living in Bunbury, Western Australia. Originally from the UK, so I can understand your accents :-)

I will be collecting a new Jimny next week, although it's really my wife's car. Outgoing car is a Smart fourtwo but we decided we wanted something we can drive on the beech [and drive off it again] as we have recently moved & now live 200m from the sea.

I don't expect to be doing any mods or serious off-road stuff, but I have enjoyed getting off-road previously in a Pajero so I won't rule it out completely.

Comment on the Jimny: I read many reviews and all said they are great off-road but the ride is harsh on-road, after a test drive [2011 model] I found the Jimny quite nice on the road and far exceeded my expectations, those people who say it's jarring and harsh have obviously never drive a smart car. :)

The only negative was that it was slow. But it was an automatic and only had 460km so the engine would have been tight.

Welcome to the group :)

I'm a Sandgroper but living in Vic these days. I drive all over the country and don't find the seats harsh or tiring at all. Have had a lot worse, Moke, Lada, Goggomobile Dart, Haflinger, Bongo Van, BMW Isetta, they were all rubbish on trips.

Just keep your tyres at around 22-25 psi and the drive is quite comfortable.

Welcome along. How long have you been out there mate?
