Just wondering if anyone has tried to run 31s with minimal lift.. like maybe even just 3" with no body lift and just a hell of a guard chop if so how did they go

Just trying to experiment with keeping the car as low as possible but with big boots

You would need to cut away and rebuild the inner wings to make room for the tyres. It would be a lot of work but would be awesome once done!

It's something I'd considered after seeing Tim Hardy's Samurai in action:

When did a 3" become a minimal lift :-)

It depends if your running new tyres or remoulds. Also what kind of springs you've installed. Standard lift springs may not lift the vehicle as much as intended if it's loaded with winches, cage, batteries and such.

I run 2" Trail Master Heavy Duty Diesel springs and have no problem running 30" tyres. Next year I will probably swap them for 31" Silverstones as they're not remoulds, and so much lighter.. Which has a noticeable effect on power :)

Look in my signature :)
235/75/15 special tracks. But they're remoulds, so actual height's 30".. And pretty heavy :)

Wheels are standard 3 spoke alloys. 5,5 x 15" I believe :)

I've got a completely standard '56 Jimny - no lift or anything.

I have 215/75/15 General Grabbers fitted - there's millimetres in it, but there's no rubbing or catching - even when flexed.
They look very chunky, and have been fantastic in snow.

If bought 265/75/r16

Guessing I've got no chance with no lift then ?
Would they fit if the arches and bumper were cut ?
