Cool, I like the trailer, is that a trailer tent? I have a roof tent for my jimny but not tried fitting it yet, far too cold and wet here in the UK ! I have been thinking about a lightweight off road trailer and sitting the tent on that.

I built the trailer a couple of year ago over about 18 months.
It is specifically designed for beach camping and to be dragged behind my stock engined Jimny.

I started by sacrificing my 1/2 Sierra trailer which had been my first trailer build. It was a fun concept which received heaps of interest but was not practical and was too heavy considering the space provided. Won't even talk about its' aerodynamics.

The axle and draw bar were cannablised from the old trailer, the rest was sold on ebay.

-The axle matched to Jimny axle width.
-Steel frame with Aluminium sheets and checkerplate (All hand folded and cut)
-Tyres 215/75R15
-Canvas was bought as a ready to bolt on trailer top and the trailer frame was specifically built to match
-1500kg axle

The sacrificed 1/2 Sierra trailer

Body and chassis separated

The frame, chassis and floor done.

Floor is all checkerplate folded around chassis to add compartments to stop the load shifting

Finished trailer behind the Jimny

Second run - Teewah Beach - Double Island Point

Trailer looks great, Ive been thinking of something slightly smaller which fits the footprint of my rooftent, but i like the long drawbar on yours, must make it very stable and less chance of colliding with the back of the jimny on tight turns!
I only want to stay away in mine for a night or two so dont need to carry much, i have a LR discovery with a caravan as well, I'd never be at home!

I bought the rims second hand. They were in quite bad shape but with a lot of elbow grease and a bit of paint they came up quite well. They are quite old, probably from the late 70's and in Australia we call them Superlights. I paid $200 AU and spent about $70 refurbishing them.

We only spend up to 5 days at a time in it too but my wife likes her comforts, right down to the kitchen sink.

Finally found myself a set of manual hubs to use with the Big Jimny hub adapter. They had been sitting outside in the dirt for a couple of years so needed to be refurbished before fitting.

Stripped down and let them soak overnight

This shows the axle and the vacuum rim that made the spacer ring necessary

Inside the Auto hub

The finished job. Took it down the road to test them out on the dirt. All was good

Have been Suzuki busy lately. My wife has upgraded from her 2006 VVT Jimny to a Cooper S CAMDEN Mini.

Great for two reasons;
1. I get to drive her Mini.
2. I get to upgrade to her Jimny.

So I've been busy swapping all my mods to the new Silver Jimny. Black Jimny will soon be sold as a rather tidy stocker.

Here's a pictural storyline.

Used the Black Jim as a template to fab a false floor/slide out bed frame for overnighters.

Lifted the spare

Mesh grill

Swapped the susupension and front bumper

Fitted these

Camped here. Stockton Beach, Newcastle

Got this for Christmas :-)

Cut this

Made a cage for my 2nd battery

Snorkel

These

and a towbar

Thanks, it's worked out really well. Took a lot of trial and error. The front seats fold totally flat once the headrests are removed and the base extension slides out over the top.

The diff is a combination of both. The yellow background is painted and I sell the eyes and mouth as a sticker set.
