Correction to increase the diameter of tires

Changing the tire diameter and scrub Radius alteration

The scrub radius is the distance in front view between the king pin axis and the centre of the contact patch of the wheel, where both would theoretically touch the road.

Increasing the diameter of the tire, the scrub radius is reduced by changing the dynamic behaviour of management. Producing abnormal behaviour, vibrations and instability

With Factory tires, the scrub radius is 15.7 mm

With 29" tires (205/80/16) pivot radius is reduced to 7.5 mm

White Original tire, yellow 29 “

To correct this, is necessary to place 8.2 mm wheel spacers

Suitable thickness aluminium spacers (waterjet cut)

Fixing

And a cut at the end of the mudguard to avoid interference between the wheel and the Fender

Note: This corrects the "scrub radius" but changes the working position of the wheel bearings and can slightly reduce the life of these.

As other data, wheel bolts fall short, they are removed

Nissan wheel bolts (screw identical measure, longer)

But with spline of 13 mm, as opposed to the 12 mm Suzuki

Very useful info thanks for sharing.
I have stock alloys with a 5mm offset and fitting 235/75 tyres made my wobble @ 45mph go away.

Great stuff! Nice to see someone doing the maths and explaining so clearly the things that many of us don't understand.

Ummm, are we saying that this scrub radius can contribute to the "death wobble" then?

Can someone then calculate what wheel spacing we would need for 30" and 31" diameter tyres?

I'm running 31"s on the blue Jimny with ET-30 wheel offset and 30"s (235/75/15s) on the red Jimny with ??? alloys on?
