Here in Barbados when i live we had or second Mudfest for the year yesterday so i took my Jimny which is completely standard for now up there is the rain has been falling every day for the week mudfest was exactly that really muddy this is when i realized my 4WD is not working as i got stuck where i should not have my friend said even tho the light on the dash came on saying it was is 4WD the unit may be malfunctioning i need to have my Jimny off road ready what can i do to find out whats up?
4x4\'s are like Visa they can take you where ever u want to go

Hi (and welcome to the website)
Did the 4WD light keep flashing??
The most common fault is with the air locking hubs, but often the ECU detects this and flashes the light.
You need to check all the pipe work for the vacuum tubes to look for splits.
You can look for which hub it is by:
1. Jack up the car SECURELY!
2. Put the gearbox in NEUTRAL
3. Put the transfer box in 4WD
4. Start the engine (you must do this to create a vacuum)
5. Turn each front wheel in turn by hand and watch the front propshaft - as you turn the front wheel the propshaft should turn. If it doesn't then the side you are doing is the faulty one and you need to look at the vacuum hub or driveshaft on that side.
