Any advice on replacing the, in my opinion, rather dim headlight bulbs with ones of a greater watts. I know heat generated can be a problem. Don’t want to fry the reflectors or burn out any wiring. Halfords have updated bulbs....any advice please.

Fitting some decent bulbs can make a significant difference. Osram Nightbreakers are a popular choice. I've fitted some and I find the headlights more than adequate.

Don't put higher wattage bulbs in they will melt the wires and are also illegal. Uprated ones use different gasses than halogen to get a brighter light for the same wattage, I have ring 180 pc in and am very pleased with them.

As Busta said the Nightbreakers are very good (got them in mine) also for the same sort of light output but a whiter light I have Phillips Extreme Vision in the Honda.

Wow! Gosh! Ran across to Halfords. Bought 2x halford 60/55 W, said to be “up to 150% brighter” I recon they are! Super drive back through the dark windy country lanes. Could see a pimple at 100 metres!
