Project Sink or Swim was created by ZukracerV6
Hi everyone!

I'm about to start my next project and I'm pretty excited about it! Its something Ive been toying with for some years and I have finally gone for it! I'm hoping this will be a little different to the normal Jimny build, there will not be any big tyres, suspension lifts or roll cages but its gonna be a fun project.

Despite the lack of such modifications I can pretty well bet most 4x4's will NOT be able to follow me!

I'm sure someone with guess from the subject title!

I've bought a 2009 Jimny which will be the donor vehicle for most of the parts like the engine, gearbox, transfer case, axles, suspension, steering, wiring, dashboard and seats.

Picking it up on Friday

I knew it would not take too long for people to guess!

The hull will be ready for collection towards the end of July.

Awesome!
Back in 2001 I worked on some pleasure boats and we had a WW2 Dukw as our support vehicle so I love amphibious stuff!

Ha ha as much I love a DUKW its not going to fit in the man cave, I cant afford 90k on a GPW amphihibous world war 2 Jeep so the Surf is a good compromise!

Haha I'm not surprised.... Bit out of my budget too!
Sadly when the business went bust in about 2004 they sold the Dukw for silly, silly cheap money :(

Well the 4:30 am start and 400 mile round trip, was well worth it! The Jimny is great, the interior is immaculate, engine is like new! I can see the evidence of the repair to the front passenger side but I'm not worried about that, as I more interested in the mechanics. Everything appears to be working including the 4x4.

Almost seems a shame to strip it, but its going to a good cause!

Compared to my other Jimny trialer this one feels like driving a luxury Merc, with its quiet suspension, leather, carpet and air conditioning!

Few photos from Copart this morning!
