Planning to build some bigger lift and put on bigger tires sometime later. But understand that it will require Rock lobster or at least a modification on exsisting transfer. Well here is my car as it looks for the moment :)

Ordered 2" body lift today :)

Looking for a rocklobster transfer. Redacted (or something like that) make them i UK I understand. Thats not to far from Norway. Any other ideas of getting that kind of transfer ?

The preferable gearing would be?

Planning on running offroad with existing 235/75-15" but maybe 32 or 33" onroad for showing off ;-)

Actually the existing tires setup with 2" spring lift works fine offroad with stock transfer ... but swaybar is not disconnected ....And im not doing extreme offroading with this setup, but it climbs very good. Keep track with the wranglers and cherokees with som minor lift on. Even climb better than them (due to much lower weight?) Could need som lower gearing though

Hello and welcome along,

A Redacted 'rocklobster' is a high quality remanufactured SJ transfer box, it has 1.5 in high box (vs standard 1.32) and 4.3 in low box (vs ?im unsure). these are lower ranges by 6.9% in high-box from a standard stick shift transfer box.

A mini -lobster is essentially just an SJ box which has the same 1.5 drop in high box, but not as low in low-box.

Both rocklobster and mini-lobster will require different front and intermediary props to fit the t-box.

Your 235 tyres are 6% larger than standard, so a rocklobster box would be good for normal road driving, and great off-road. it would also allow you to run larger tyres to 'show off' as well B-)

I have one going spare (and all props & bucket/bushes to fit it), but i dont know about postage to Norway? Im after £500+postage for the full kit. It was made for a 2004 M13 (non VVT) with an R7me gearbox and existing stick-shift transfer box. A donation to running of the forum from any sales also of course ;-)

oh, and pics of progress are compulsory. Jimnys are very addictive!

Riccy.

I dont know about the postage either. I dont know where in the world you're living as well?

My english is a little poor. Maybe you alredy mentioned without me understanding ....but is the lobster with the mounting brackets ?

I found a sj 410 and also a sj 413 transfer here in Norway ...but do not posess the skills to do the convertion :-D

For the moment I honestly dont know if I have the vvt engine or not. Also dont know what kind of gearbox ...

Used to have Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee. Became a hobby-expert on those. Hope to accumulate skills on my Jimny day by day.
