that's just what i did ;)
also i cut off the seat belt buckle left it attached to rear pillar
fitted dog lead clip. works sort of like a retractable dog lead/seat belt :)

Where did you get the cargo flooring Gus ? Looks good. Is it a pre made thing for the Jimny or a roll of rubber matting you just got and made fit ?

Make them myself from 10mm marine ply (doesn't have to be this quality, I just like working with it), and overlaid with 3mm checkerplate rubber available on eBay.
I use the rubber offcuts to sit the ply on in half a dozen places...it helps provide a nice quiet drum-free environment :)
