Update.
Added some hood vents, engine bay temp dropped about 10°C.

Holmar - I am coming to Iceland is March for a 12nights holiday with my wife ... its a shame i cannot bring Jalapeno with me ... but can you recommend a good 4x4 Tour Company?

I do not know about the companies in Reykjavík many there are designed to take massive groups,
but I know a very good company here in Höfn.

Reykjavík to Höfn is 458 Km. approx 5- 6 hour drive(with minor stops) (depends on weather, road conditions, tourists driving slowly and so on.)
