I have just seen it is a 1999 car that will be obd1 not obd2 so more difficult to communicate with. Sorry for not noticing that in the first post.

Suzuki was still using OBDI in 1999? All the manufacturers I know of went OBDII since 1996.
It also has the OBDII type port which makes me think its OBDII...strange. Were they running OBD1 with OBD 2 connectivity and port?

I hooked up the BAFX Android based scanner and it wont't work either, it powers up but not seeing the protocol.

Thanks Lambert.

Lambert I read the title of a broken link that Suzuki only used OBD2 until 2001. Thats unreal, too bad the site does not exist still.

Learning more and more about Suzuki's mysteries :)
Thanks Lambert.

You are correct, they went right to the last minute allowed by international regulation before changing the protocol despite the physical port being "correct"

Thanks mlines, never too old to learn....my first Suzuki too. Have to look for an OBD1 scanner with the port adapter now.

I am happy that Lambert pointed out that's its OBD1, so one mystery solved. LOL
Thanks and have a great day.
