Jimny 1999, G13BB EGR System was created by Owl
Hi All, was just looking at the illustrated parts lists, for my model Jimny there is a factory blanking plate available as a spare part. Would that indicate that I can do that? Would the o2 sensor and ECU naturally adjust to the new conditions. I was hoping to hear from anyone who has done that and whether the check engine light will come on? Steve

Technically it's an mot failure these days. Not that that stops many people.

I blanked off the EGR on my diesel SAAB - huge improvement, essentially cutting out the EGR bypass valve
EGR - stupid idea, particularly with diesels in my opinion

IF IT AINT BROKE, KEEP FIXING IT UNTIL IT IS

Thanks Lambert, Over here you do one MOT (rego Check we call it), and as long as you keep paying the registration each year your good to go. There are supposedly random road checks but ive seen it once in 10 years. That would be for bald tyres and a bad air freshener. .
