Everyone has to learn somewhere. Yes It's a diy job just a bit messy. That said if you're struggling to tell a spanner from a hammer then a garage shouldbe considered.

I am near Stoke, Kidsgrove to be precise. I need to do mine and have the parts and it's not a million miles different from my Land Rover which I have done many times. If you need any help just ask.
I can recommend JHL near Hanley, not Suzuki specific, but they have worked on my ex PoloTDI and I was very impressed with the work. As I generally do not like garages I will do all my own work on the Jimny, that's why I own it.

Don, I reckon with some decent basic tools, you should be able to follow the excellent guide and do the job yourself.
Just be safe and make sure you have an axle-stand in position to protect you

The topic of the notorious, horrific and occult death wobble had been munched through so many times in the past. It has been demystified, debunked and systematically dissected a long time ago, and the collective wisdom has been engraved in this web site's wiki (look for the article in Wiki's FAQ section).

Whenever someone new asks something about the death wobble next time in the forum, it is best to skip the discussion and point them directly to the wiki article. In 99% of the cases, they will get their salvation there.

The only thing remaining to add to that death wobble universe is if Jimnys 4 also suffer from the same trait or not. I presume that they do. I am eager to see the first reports once someone bashes a Jimny 4 to a proper extent.

As I see it, I think the worry for those with no real knowledge of the death wobble per se is that they think that ANY wobble is death wobble whereas that is not the case; particularly with an unmodified vehicle. As I understand it It's simply more likely to be king pin bearings and/or bushes on say the panhard rod

Also it's often the case that a new owner to Jimny is not unreasonably going to benefit from having their hand held metaphorically speaking when they first encounter steering wobble. We as seasoned users could be considered to have a degree of duty of care to newbies to gently guide them through this initial period of concern. Just dumping them with a tonne of scary sounding information while technically helpful can be a bit emotionally overwhelming.

Drivers side done. ABS sensor bolt sheered offf so had to drill that out and tap it 6mm. Other than that and some very stubborn bolts it went ok. :)

Passenger side Friday.
