Suspension lift review was created by Jimny1990
Good evening chaps

I am on a budget and looking to lift my jimny approximatly 2inch. I have been looking at suspension lift kits such as the one in then screen shot below.
What I would like to know it's how they perform, on and off road ?
Correct me if I'm wrong but if your just lifting the suspension the characteristics should be the same as that of the original car ?
The last thing I want is for the car to perform terrible on the road.

I'd definitely go for a body lift instead.
With a body lift you lift only the body, not the entire chassis, engine, transmission and such. So center of gravity is kept much lower than if you're using spring spacers.

Not that I'm a big fan of any of these two solutions. But I'd choose a body lift if I had to choose one.

Thanks for the reply
With a body lift the chassis will still be in the same place. I'm after a bit more ground clearance for over rocks etc

Also wouldn't a kit like this be more like a 3.5 inch kit?
If the shock relocation brackets lift 1.5" already plus 2 inch spacer ?

How would that be 3.5"? The spacers go on the springs. the relocations brackets go on the shocks.

Also, what size tyres are you running? The Jimny's wheelbase is so short that it's usually not a problem with ground clearance under the chassis. more so with the axles.

Sorry Tom I got the wrong idea about how the spacers are mounted. I was thinking like on a normal car were the damper is in middle of the spring.
Now I see that both the spring and the damper are extended.
I have 215/75/15 insa Saharas

I have these on mine and they are fine both on and off road.
I also fitted a longer rear brake hose as the standard one seemed quite tight.
I have 195 80 15 mud tyres, 30mm wheel spacers and front castor correction bushes.
