I have just changed my oil and have over filled by about a centimetre on the dip stick...

I am not familiar with the oil pan of the M13A engine or the crank throw, would this level of over fill need to be corrected ?

I don't want to have the crank aerating the oil.

when I ended up doing this I managed to get a bit of suitably sized rubber hose down where the dipstick goes and with a syringe on the end of the hose got the excess oil out. Took ages though.

I did it dirty, drained from the sump whilst dictating flow with my finger - wrist - elbow, now perfectly on the upper line.

At least I got dark oil first which gradually lightened to clear, I may have inadvertently flushed the heavy old oil through the engine and had it settle in the lower part of the sump overnight.

Might be an example of a useful cock up......

Thanks
