Sorry for my ignorance, quick question.
Are all Jimnys built 2005 onwards VVT belt drive ?

Wine improves with age.
The older I get the more I like it

vvt are chain driven, but yes all 2005 onwards i think are VVT (excepting some soft top models maybe)

I've got a VVT soft top and I'm pretty certain its a chain.

Is there somewhere that confirms this based on the engine number?

Ah, I didnt explain properly... If its VVT then its a M13a engine with timing chain, otherwise it could be a M13 (non VVT), which also has a chain. Finally there is a G13b, which is a belt.

Some soft tops from 2005 would be M13 (with or without VVT, depending on what was about when it was built)
