Hi,

I have a 1999 Jimny, over the last couple of weeks on three occasions whilst driving I have had a split second loss of power.
The previous two times it was just once during the trip. Today whilst driving at 50 mph it lost power for a split second three or four times in row then carried on like normal. Since then it has been driving fine.
It does not stall just lose power for a split second then drive like normal.
Would the crank sensor cause this ? Or any other ideas

Cheers Colin

Replied by rappey on topic Engine cuts for split second whilst driving
It could cause it, but so could a cam sensor, a failing coil, a lose wire etc...
There are many things that could be at fault..
Hard to diagnose without the problem occuring during diagnosing.

Mine started doing this, then it was losing 2 cylinders for a few seconds. Changed the coil packs and now running properly again. Changed both as the car is 12 yr old and thought if one had started to break down it was likely the other would as well.

Mine does this sometimes, I just release the gas pedal a second and resume driving. Happens rarely
