I would love a Jimny painted in Suzuki Yellow like the Swift. Such a dark Yellow, really stands out in the traffic.

I've had water up to the top front edge of the bonnet, splashing over onto the windscreen and driven out without a snorkel, but some water had got in ( I drained a pint or so from the airbox) and she smoked like a steam engine for a few minutes. That was in a flash flood and I would have backed out if I didn't have a trailer on! Up to the top of the tyres is my sensible limit without one. 28" is plenty deep enough.

A snorkel is only and improvement in dust if you have the extra separator on the top like Zook does. Otherwise you are still just relying on the air filter.
