In the gearstick assembly outside the box, or inside?

Mine is slightly hard to get into reverse, but i thought all jimnys where like that.

Answer to Riccy about editing the Wiki page:

I have never personally encountered the error which you describe.

I suggest that you send a private message to forum owner, Martin and notify him of the issue. He should be able to quickly solve the issue while cooperating with you.

If you still have the text which you wrote, as a last resort you could send it to me and I can edit the article. But try to resolve the issue with Martin first.

Perhaps others are having the same issue as well when they try to edit the wiki and maybe that's the reason why rarely anyone except me edits it!

EDIT:
Riccy, after Martin solves the issue, you do not have to make the content which you write pretty if you don't know how to polish Wiki text and pictures. I can do that after you finish writing.

I'll be doing this in the near future, my 3rd and 4th gears have just started getting noisy.

Which kit did you buy? Any specific hassles, or all just plain sailing?

Out of interest, What year is your gearbox and is the intermediate prop leaking from the gearbox end? My 06 red ulysses is leaking from there...

Have you sealed the cap inside the prop flange?

Strange thing is that I haven't noticed any leaking of oil. Got it parked on a dirty gravelly farm drive, so would be easy to miss if it's only small amounts, but I need to get under it to have a closer look. Will do so this weekend.

I'd have thought I'd have smelt any oil splashing onto the hot exhaust mid-section though. What I have noticed is a rough, almost rattly sound in 3rd and 4th. All other gears are fine.

Mine is a 2009, so on the cusp of when they started producing them with sealed bearings and nodifed props, but guessing my one missed out.

Edit: Just thinking, all this has happened since a recent gearbox oil change. Filled it up till the oil poured out the filler hole, but access is so dodgy down there that I wonder if I didn't fill it up fully. I was happy that the amount refilled was the specified amount, but am now wondering how much poured out and if filler hose was fully in the hole.
