I started out with nothing & still have most of it left
Alternator Options was created by zukebob
Although I don't plan on doing this too soon, and it's mostly been on the back burner, I have been digging on potential options for an alternator upgrade. I thought I would share what I have so far with the forum in case it is helpful to anyone. It explains with a little more detail the comments I have made on several posts about upgrades. Be kind though. It's a work in progress and still missing a bit of data.

Thanks for the link. You did a thorough write-up so I won't add it to mine.

Do you know what the terminals are for the Vauxhall alternator?

I don't have any data on the opel alternator. Hopefully vdl will reply. If not, you might try sending him a PM.

Wish you had done this thread about a year or so ago before I got the Astra alternator would have been far easier to use a gv one lol

two positive terminals and one sense/starter terminal - jimny plug does not fit - used only one wire from jimny plug for sense. don't rememeber which one. you should look in wiring diagram which wire is used for sense.

Cheers! Where on the alternator does the sense wire go? Which is the sense terminal?

The sense voltage / field excitation current should normally connect to the black/white lead (IG) on the Jimny plug. I will let vdl confirm.
