I had to change a sensor on my Alto and I found that my 17mm injector socket did the job.
Just as a matter of interest did you ever have the prop failure and if not surely these boxes must be defective in some way??
I wonder if the new model has the same gearbox?

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)

I bet it's a relief to have it back working as it should. Sounds like they kept you hanging for a while though. I wonder if they put regular suppliers of work, like the Police ahead of yours to keep them sweet as they can be demanding, wanting their vehicles off the road for as little time as possible.

The sensor is a pain but easier than the gearbox!

I hope that the grumbling noise is something simple like a front wheel bearing.

It's all fun and games!

Well its good news tonight.

The Lambda Sensor (O2 Sensor) had failed and I can only guess it was a complete co-incidence as it was Sensor 1 which is not touched during a gearbox change. Its failed internally so not a damaged connector or wire. BigJimny donated its sensor to LittleJimny and the fault cleared.

Clutch adjusted up nicely and everything is now back to normal!

I think that is seriously cheap ! I have a Mercedes auto and there is a speed sensor within the gearbox. This likes to fail then its at least £550 to get fixed by an independent specialist.. The 7 speed auto is even worse as can only get the part if its fitted by Mercedes at a cost of over 2K.
not a bad profit for them on a £150 item that you just cant get !

Same as happened to mine. I became quite adept at missing out 3rd/4th and short shifting. Good job the Jimny is geared low lol.
It cost me app £650 for a rebuild at a local garage inc a new clutch and I have done app 35000 since the rebuild with no problems.

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)
