After being a member of this forum for almost 3 years, I finally took
the plunge and bought a 2015 Jimny A/T. I am stocking parts for an
eventual transformation of my Jimny. By 2016 I would like my Jimny
to be fully transformed with ARB locker for the rear, 31" tires,
regeared differentials, lifted or chop fenders to accomodate
the tires and a 8000 lb. winch in a winch bumper.

Today I bought a pair (front and rear) of Jimny 3rd member with
5.37 final drive ratio from a reputable Suzuki surplus dealer
here in the Philippines. I will pick it up tomorrow, today being a
Sunday. The 5.37 will give me a gear reduction of 1.31 from the stock
final drive ratio of 4.09. :)

My question is, I never knew that there are aftermarket differentials
available for a Jimny. . I wonder where these R&P gears came from?

I have attached a jpeg picture of the 3rd member that I will buy tomorrow.
The surplus dealer insisted that it is compatible for the new Jimny with smaller
3rd member for the front vs. the rear and I have no reason to doubt him as
he definitely knows his stuff. :)

Autos do have a different tatio to manuals .....not sure if this was the question

sorry for the confusing post Reaper. What i meant was,
How come I never read about after-market 5.37 (43:8)
Ring & Pinion gears available for the Jimny before? :)

5.37 is the genuine r&p from Jimnys with K6A engine (656 cmc), available in JDM.

ah okay. thank you minitecus, I thought they were aftermarket ring gears. So they came from stock suzuki jimnys' with a 660cc turbo engine from Japan? Thank you for the information. :)

Sorry for the tangent but the turbo jimny's sound fab. Well the ones I've watched and listened to on YouTube do

If they sell surplus turbo 660 Jimnys' in the UK then you will have a source of surplus 5.37 differential pair. It will be cheaper upgrade than a transfer case regear, I think. :)

Hello everybody!
I have the same problem. must sort gearing problem with bigger tires and decided to make diffs conversion. My diffs are 4.3:1 (43/10). So if you report that the R&P conversion from Jimny 660cc turbo is successful I would be interested to buy one set. Do you have a supplier for these parts? Thank you
