ID these wheels please was created by DVs-Jimny
I bought a set of four of these wheels with tyres off of evil bay. They were listed as Vit/SJ wheels, are 15" dia and fitted with 205/75 x 15 tyres. The wheels are steel and chromed but badly pitted.

I spent an hour or so prepping one and used some etch primer, then normal primer and then silver wheel paint. Buffed the tyre and re did the white lettering. The finished wheel whilst not perfect is much nicer on the eye.

Now my problem is that I can't find any marks on the wheel to depict width or off set. The tyres look too stretched to me and whilst there is plenty of tread all outside tyre walls have been rubbing on the original car to the point that the tyre size has been shaved off :(

So I need to know what size the wheels are and what size tyres should be on the rims as the 205's look too stretched. Hope that makes sense.

They look like vit wheels,

At a guess i'd say there 8" and normally you run tyres 2 inch bigger than the alloy so that would be a tyre size of 250mm, but you can get away with less than 2 inch i'd say that as a guide line

It should be stamped on the inside of the alloy wheen near the centre hole?

Cheers mate, still cant find a size on them and whilst they look like the Vit alloy wheel they are definitely chrome plated steel wheels :( I've just found out how to measure the width and they are 8" wide. So that's why the 205's look stretched.

Am I right in assuming an 8" wheel should have 225 or 235 tyres fitted?

This cheapish deal just got expensive grrr.

i had a pair of vit steel wheels on mine which were the exact same in apearence as those wheels,
if i remeber correctly i ran, 215/70/15's and seemed to be okay but still stretched a little,

but i'd says 225 or 235 would suit the width better, but probably not a nessecary if your working on a budget, but dont hold me to that as i'm not entierly sure

These wheels are 15x8. Comes from an sj410.

You should use at least 215/75/15 but you wont be able to low pressure.

The best is 235/75/15 , 30/9.5/15 , 31/10.5/15 the best.

You're saying those are stock SJ410 wheels? I call BS on that one!

Those look nothing like the SJs stock wheels, and SJs wheels are 5.5" wide or so with ET0...

American racing and some other manufacturers make those "saw blade" type wheels. A friend of mine had similar on his SJ. And at least 10.5" wide tire would be best for 8" wide wheel.

Found them :)

www.tyresandaccessories.com/en/wheels/wh..._id=44&p1=brand&p2=3

But they are definitely steel and not alloy wheels. Apparently Mangel stopped making steel wheels in 2006 and stuck with making alloy wheels.

So I'm guessing 215/75 x 15 tyres will now be OK.
